A few weeks ago, I gushed over the upcoming collector’s edition of Fable III. The packaging is wonderful, the bonus items are relevant, entertaining, and a great way to connect the physical world with the game world. I wouldn’t say no to more things being thrown in, but I also wouldn’t say no to dropping $79.99 on it either. News has hit today of another big collector’s edition coming up this year. Specifically, for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II.
The collector’s edition for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, like that for Fable III, will cost $79.99. It does not, however, live up to that price point the way the Fable III collector’s edition does. Let’s go over the details of what’s included, shall we? The game comes in a “Premium Collectible Steelbook,” a growing trend for DVDs and games. Exclusive in-game content is included, such as three challenge mode levels, character skins, and a lightsaber crystal. A 2GB USB Flash Drive designed by Mimobot contains this bonus content, as well as a digital art book with game art. To me, the lack of physical items (other than a USB drive) like those included with Fable III’s collector’s edition makes this a collector’s edition I’ll most likely pass on.
There is one more thing before I bring this to a close, though. Is it just me, or does that Starkiller USB drive look strangely familiar?

You didn’t want to buy the collector’s edition of the first Star Wars: The Force Unleashed because the game was so damn short. You don’t know how long SW:TFUII will be.
You mean Ultimate Sith Edition? Yeah, I wanted it, but the game was short as hell. Keep in mind that we played the PS2 version of it, and not the 360 version that has DLC.
I have ultimate sith edition on steam(the graphics are always better on PC)
I think if I get a BOX I will pass on any games i can get for PC, including titles that cross platform multiplay
it’s sad, I ma more interested in a Wii than the BOX, and PS3….who really needs one…system has NO GAMES
I am more excited over the PSP2 and the new DSI3D(and I have seen rumors floating around that MS and Sony have started working on the next systems, including some MS XBOX Portable)

The only reason I’ve drifted from PC games more into console games is the ease of the controller. When I’m on a PC, I use the arrow-keys and mouse, depending on the game. That means I need a desk and I’m face-to-face with the computer. With the 360, I can lay back on the couch at a nice distance with controller in hand. I know I can get controllers for PC gaming as well, but to me, PC gaming has always been keyboard/mouse, which with our current setup, is difficult. Also, I haven’t had a gaming-capable rig set up for years because of the cost.
I do miss my PC gaming, though…
