Finally, the news all of you SSX fans have been waiting for: a new SSX is coming for Xbox 360 and PS3. The original came out a decade ago (time flies, I know), and thousands of gamers have been clamoring and wondering when their current-gen consoles would get some of the same snowboarding love.
Peter Moore, President of EA Sports is very enthusiastic about SSX: Deadly Descents and confident, long-time fans of the series will love what they have done with the new title.
“An entire genre was born from the original SSX a decade ago, and it’s time to reboot one of the most popular franchises of all-time in an unpredictable and unexpected way. Fans have been begging for this since the launch of this generation of consoles, and we have an experience that will be worth the wait. This franchise has always been about racing, tricks, characters and fun – SSX: Deadly Descents will deliver all of that, and more, on a global scale, with rich online experiences, and with the sense of adventure never before imagined on a snowboard.”
With, obviously, better graphics, the capability for some fantastic online integration, and the chance to pit riders against the forces of nature, SSX: Deadly Descents is shaping up to be a big hit. Unlike previous games, Deadly Descents will have it to where the players characters are visibly affected by the elements. When traveling to the Himalayas, the air will be so thin that you’ll have to race down the mountains at insane, and dangerous, speeds to ensure that you don’t black out. In the solid ice ranges of Antarctica, players will have to keep themselves in areas lit by the sun because the ones that are shaded are around -58 degrees Fahrenheit.
While there is no official release date yet, we do know that it will be coming out next winter. Be sure to check out the official website for SSX: Deadly Descents for more information and updates.
