If you had a chance to watch the 2010 Video Game Awards on Spike TV this past Saturday, count yourself slightly fortunate. While the awards show itself was dreadful, there were some fantastic announcements. Obviously, the news of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim falls into that category.
I’ll be honest in saying that I didn’t care for Oblivion for the 360, but that didn’t stop me from getting goosebumps when watching the teaser trailer. The build-up and everything was that exciting. Today, Bethesda has release more information about the game, and when gamers can expect to see more details. Console fans will be pleased to know that when the game hits store shelves on November 11th, 2011, it will be available for Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. PC fans will be equally pleased to know that it will also be available for them the same day.
When discussing the game, Todd Howard, Game Director for Skyrim, had this to say:
“It’s exciting finally to announce the game. We’ve been working for many years on Skyrim and the technology behind it. A new Elder Scrolls game has been a long time coming, and we can’t wait to show it off.”
Those of you out there with Game Informer subscriptions will be happy to know that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be featured on the cover of the February issue that will be coming out sometime in January. Dan Ryckert, Associate Editor for Game Informer, announced via his Twitter feed today that on January 6th there will be the cover reveal.
