For those of you partaking in the madness that is Black Friday, know that there are some gifts you can purchase from the comfort of your own home: casual games! Sure they aren’t like those crazy first-person shooters everybody raves about, but let it be known that casual games can offer some very rewarding experiences.
So, with that out of the way, take a look at some of the great games that are sure to please even the finickiest of gamers!
First up is Drawn: Dark Flight for PC. Put out a few months ago by Big Fish Games, it’s absolutely gorgeous. I actually had a chance to review the game and it is, hands down, one of the most gorgeous games I’ve ever played. It’s a fantastic hidden-object/puzzle game that is great for just about anybody. With the Collectors Edition only costing $13.99 (and that isn’t including any sales they might be having this upcoming weekend), it is certainly budget friendly.
Next up are a couple of stockings from MumboJumbo Games. These little guys only retail for $19.99. The best part is that they include 5 games in 1, and these games originally retailed for $20 apiece, so do the math and think of the savings! Some of the games in these stockings are Nancy Drew: Secret of the Scarlet Hand, Samantha Swift: Mystery from Atlantis, 7 Wonders: Treasures of Seven, LUXOR 3, and Poker Superstars III. There is really something for everybody, and they can be found at Target, Sams Club, and Best Buy locations throughout the country.
Speaking of LUXOR, MumboJumbo recently released LUXOR 5th Passage, and even though I haven’t put up the review yet, just know this: 100 fun levels, new power-ups, the chance to play through some fan favorite levels, and it’s only $6.99! This latest edition to the popular LUXOR franchise is a must-have for fans of the series. To purchase a copy, you can either purchase it here or enter our giveaway where we are giving two lucky Facebook friends codes to get the game for free!
For the DASH fanatic in all of us, give the gift of Wedding Dash 4-Ever, Cooking Dash 3: Thrills & Spills, or Hotel Dash: Suite Success. With prices ranging from the super cheap ($2.99 for Hotel Dash on PC for this week only) to $13.99 for the Collectors Edition of Cooking Dash 3, Â you can easily gift a couple of games and be done!
For the adult casual gamer, there is The Institute: A Becky Brogan Adventure. Another downloadable PC game, this one takes you through a scary, abandoned mental facility as you try to find out what happened to a missing nurse. MumboJumbo really hit it out of the park with this one, and I had no idea they could come out with a game so dark, so creepy, and so fun. For only $6.99, this game is sure to delight any horror or suspense fans you might know, and can be purchased here.
On a lighter note, there is MahJong Journey: Quest for Tikal for the Nintendo DS. As a longtime fan of MahJong, I really enjoyed this game, and it’s fantastic for somebody who enjoys the casual genre and owns a Nintendo DS. It’s currently on sale at Amazon.com, but you might want to stay tuned for this weekend to see if any other discounts pop up.
Finally, Avenue Flo: Special Delivery is one that will please fans of the DinerTown universe. With mini-games galore, a cute story, and the chance to play even more levels of the mini-games afterwards, this really is a great deal for only $6.99. Avenue Flo: Special Delivery can be purchased here.
Authors Note: There was a price error in the original version of this article. The MumboJumbo Games stockings were priced at $4.99 however they were accidentally confused with other stocking stuffers from MumboJumbo that are single games for that price. The actual price of the stockings have been corrected to their actual retail price of $19.99, so we apologize for any confusion!
