If you recognize who Raffi is, but think that I must surely be talking about a different Raffi, well, you’re wrong. And don’t call me Shirley (nyuk nyuk nyuk). I am indeed talking about the children’s entertainer Raffi, best known for one particular song (at least, best known by me).
Raffi is an old dude. He was born in 1948 in Cairo, Egypt, and eventually moved with his family to Canada. Raffi, the guy who wrote Bananaphone, is a member of the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia, each being the highest order appointments of their kind. Yeah, he’s practically a Canadian Knight.
