I think it’s pretty safe to say that a majority of Nintendo Wii owners have children, or they like the family friendly titles offered for it. Atlus, who are notorious for their awesome RPG’s, announced today that they are hoping to tap into that demographic with 101-in-1 Sports Party Megamix. Originally developed and published in Europe by Nordcurrent, Atlus gained the North American publishing rights for the game, and plans to release it on November 9th of this year.
In addition to this news, we were given screenshots and a trailer featuring actual gameplay, and while it’s not graphically stunning, I can immediately see the appeal to children and families. Another great thing is the price: $19.99. If you break it down, for $19.99 plus tax, you get 101 fun games, and that equals out to an average of less than twenty cents per game. That’s a fantastic deal.
Like other sports games out there for the Wii, 101-in-1 Sports Part Megamix will feature such staples like tennis, basketball, boxing, baseball, but it also includes quirky games like Psychic Bowling, Sumo Suit Showdown, Daring Darts, Fancy Fencing, and dozens more. Up to four players will be able to get in on the fun, and the more you play it, the faster you’ll be able to unlock the rest of the mini games.
Obviously this is a huge switch from the people who’ve brought us Demon Souls, Shin Megami Tensei, and Odin Sphere, but sometimes it’s good to mix it up a little.
