Happily Ever After…

March 31st, 2009

Three nights ago, in the aftermath of Episode 13 of the MehCast, Kelly (a friend/viewer who goes by the handle MrsLeftyBrown), while having a conversation with Lindsey, suggested a local wedding chapel for us to just get married.  Caught up in the thought of finally getting married, we called that night and scheduled a sit-down with them to go over the details.  We scheduled ourselves in for the next night at 7pm and started inviting our friends and family via text message and phone calls.  The most common response was along the lines of “WTF?!”, which was very understandable.

Saturday morning, we woke up with a large list of tasks to accomplish before 7pm.  We needed to clean the apartment, which was a disaster zone.  Lindsey needed to find something to wear, we needed to bake a cake, we needed to invite people, we had to prepare the ceremony program and our vows, and other things that completely slip my mind at this moment.  Needless to say, it was a long, busy, exhausting day.  We arrived after most of our guests, and went inside to start preparing.  I set up my camcorder, and Chris (leftybrown) was kind enough to handle the recording.  My brother from another mother took photos with my camera.  After working through some nerves (not me), we started the show around 7:30pm.  We walked up to Ave Maria, stood at the altar, and proceeded to make my dreams come true.  A short 5 minutes later, the ceremony was over, and we were back in the prep room laughing and dancing with each other while our guests waited in the main room.  A few minutes after that, we made our way back out to take pictures with everyone and thank everyone for coming.

After the ceremony and greetings, some of the guests (some of my cousins and a few friends) came back to our apartment for pasta and cake.  My brother from another mother (same one who took photos) and his girlfriend bought us a fantastic crystal centerpiece bowl on their way over.  It’s really stunning.  I don’t really know what else to say.

We’re married!

We just got married!

Year 1 Episode 13 Recap

March 30th, 2009

This one is a few days late also, but we have our excuses!  Episode 13 was fairly short, as the past few episodes seem to also have been,  unfortunately.  We had a few topics to discuss, as usual, and went over our usual “…of the Week” items.  The interesting stuff started happening after the show ended!  Details will be up today or tomorrow!

Year 1 Episode 12 Recap

March 30th, 2009

This is VERY late in coming, and because of that, I have no idea what we talked about in Episode 12!  I remember only a few things.  Our show was rescheduled from our regular Friday night time to Sunday afternoon, because Lindsey and I went out of town for a conference.  We did our basic weekly random topics, as well as one or two more serious topics.  We also mentioned my bare-chested Starbucks run in Los Banos, California.  Watch the episode for more!

Warioware: Smooth Moves

March 29th, 2009

Last week, my closest cousin (geographically and emotionally) and his wife purchased a Wii.  With this Wii, they purchased a game called Warioware: Smooth Moves.  Warioware: Smooth Moves is a party game that supports a ridiculously large number of local players, since it only uses one Wiimote passed between players.  The game consists of incredibly short mini-games that are part of an overall scoring process.  The upcoming player is identified, the necessary controller position is identified, then a 3-5 second mini-game pops up.  Once the mini-game is done, the next player is quickly identified, the new controller position is detailed, and another mini-game pops up.  The gap between mini-games is less than 10 seconds, making each player turn approximately 15 seconds.  It is a fantastic, fun, fast-paced game that is very easy to lose track of time with, and very easy to get excited about.  If you’ve got a Wii, we definitely recommend picking up Warioware: Smooth Moves.

Odd Search Results

March 27th, 2009

On the backend for World of Meh’s WordPress, we have installed a statistics plugin that gives us a daily unique hits graph, top articles, top pages, and many other little tidbits of information.  By far, the most interesting, and hilarious information it provides are the top searches that result in finding our little piece of the pie.  It speaks volumes to the quality of content that one can find here at the World of Meh.  Allow me to present you with my favorite example today:

“hairy men iphone”

Apparently, we have talked so often about hairy men and iphones that we can be found through a search for “hairy men iphone”.  While I can recall many instances where I have mentioned iPhones, I can not so easily recall discussing hairy men.  That leaves me to wonder how that term has become associated with our humble blog…

I’m looking at you, Lindsey dearest.

I’ve got a lovely bunch of turnips

March 26th, 2009

While that doesn’t quite have the ring of “coconuts”, it’s fairly relevant to Lindsey and me, as well as others like us.

By “like us”, I mean Animal Crossing fiends.

Lindsey and I bought white turnips (kind of a stock market thing, in the game) at 91 each, which is a fairly cheap price.  Lindsey bought $80,000 worth, and I bought $320,000 worth.  Today, we found a town that was purchasing turnips at 524 each.  Lindsey turned a profit of approximately $300,000.  I turned a profit of almost $2,000,000.  Things are going well in our AC town.

Now all we need is for things to go that well in real life, and we’d be perfectly happy.

One Post per Day? Ha!

March 25th, 2009

On Monday’s post, I said:

“One post per day still going strong.”

And then we missed Tuesday’s post.  Doesn’t that just make us look awesome.  There were extenuating circumstances, however.  We swear!  We discovered on Monday night that we had some legal issues to take care of by this morning, and yesterday was spent scrambling.  With everything that’s been going on, unfortunately yesterday’s post slipped our minds.  Sorry.  There will be more details about the situation sometime this week.

Thanks for sticking around!

Big Trouble in Little China

March 23rd, 2009

When life shits on you, it really shits on you. Aside from the issue of my family refusing to attend my wedding, even though their reasons are hypocritical, and the death of Lindsey’s great great uncle last week, a new pile of bullshit has just landed square on our heads. Sorry, no details for now, but maybe one day. Sorry the post wasn’t more interesting today, but at least there was something! One post per day still going strong.

One Hundred!

March 22nd, 2009

This is our 100th post on the World of Meh.  Our inaugural post was December 27th, 2008.  In less than three months, we’ve posted up 100 pointless articles about random crap that nobody cares about!  What a wonderful contribution to society we have provided!

Self-deprication aside, we’ve had a great deal of fun with the site so far, and we’re looking forward to a great deal of fun coming up in the future.  We started off strong, and after about a week and a half, fizzled out for almost two weeks.  In mid-January, though, we committed ourselves to the consistency of the blog, and made a promise to update at least once per day, every day.  Since then, we have not missed a single day’s post, and we plan on keeping it that way, dag nabbit.

Please keep coming back for our next 100, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, and the next 100 after that, etc.

Last Second Post!

March 21st, 2009

We’ve had a long and (for the most part) bad day, with various events happening that have just been kind of overwhelming.  We’ll just call this a throwaway post to maintain our one post per day streak.

Sorry, and thanks for understanding!
