New Mortal Kombat Trailer Promotes Shadow Boxing

There’s a new trailer showing shadows slay each other.

Every new trailer or screen shot from this game just makes me froth in anticipatory fury. Froth. This is the perfect way to bring this franchise back into the position of prestige it held in the 90′s. It is seemingly following in Street Fighter IV’s example of going 2D in an era of 3D fighters while making sure every single popular fighter from the first few games are back. Just, you know, with buckets and buckets of blood. Street Fighter doesn’t have that.

Now fans of Mortal Kombat have had it good the past few months. We’ve had that ridiculously cool looking live action thing, we’ve had the announcement of the new Mortal Kombat game, and we’ve had hints of an HD update to the first three Mortal Kombat games. And now to add to the pile of awesome new MK media we have this new trailer that shows us…not a lot, actually. Its mostly shadows of people punching each other. I mean, guys, we know this is a new Mortal Kombat. No need to hide things from us at this point, right? But hey, it does reveal Scorpion’s new look! That’s something cool. Or hot, considering its Scorpion. Whatever. Watch the trailer below.

I want, lol! I bet the main reason they did it with the shadows is similar to how in Kill Bill, the insanely bloody scenes are in black and white. Either way, it was a good trailer. Downside? I hate Disturbed, so yeah…

Yeah, what was up with that music? That was ridiculously misplaced.

Oh well. Scorpion! Yay! My favorite character!

About Marooners’ Rock

Everyone grows up; this is how the world works. Just because we grow decrepit and old, however, does not mean we have to forsake the things that make us happy, childish though they may seem. This is the core concept of Marooners’ Rock; we geek out on the things of our past, present, and future. Society and cultural norms be damned!
